SME interest in Industry 4.0, adopted by big OEMs in Germany, is low. The pressing challenge is crafting a practical transformation plan that resonates with SMEs, the backbone of any thriving economy. Danish SMEs’ Smart Factories/Industry 4.0 model perspective is studied in this study. This study aims to provide a framework for companies to successfully transition to digitalization and adopt smart product and service development practices. SME-focused quantitative research methodologies like surveys, interviews, and literature reviews are used in this study. Large corporations started Industry 4.0, or the digital shift, according to a study. Comprehensive industrial growth, especially by SMEs, has not prioritised it. This research provides a well-defined and feasible path for industrial SMEs following the Danish Model's “digital change management process - Industry 4.0/Smart factory,” industrial transformation process. This paper theoretically outlines an Industry 4.0 smart factory roadmap. This framework optimises and streamlines SME production. Danish Industry 4.0 views. The present study focuses on the development of a digital transformation roadmap specifically designed for Danish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the smart factory sector. This research aims to explore the advantages of implementing such a roadmap and identify potential areas for future investigation.
